My Artistic Journey

Art has always been a part of me, though a lack of confidence in drawing and painting held me back for many years. It wasn't until a few years ago, after completing a course based on Betty Edwards' 'Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain', that I truly embraced painting. This led to two exhibitions, 'Stranger to the Tropics' and 'Exposed', in Canada in 2009. With work and other commitments, I didn't paint much until 2025, when I rediscovered my love for it. And I still absolutely love it!

Connecting with the Viewer

My creativity is sparked by a variety of sources. I find great inspiration in the works of other artists, including William Kurelek, Vincent Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, and Gustav Klimt, among others. Beyond other artists, I am also deeply moved by compelling ideas, challenging concepts, and the profound beauty found in examining the smallest details of the world around us.When people view my paintings, I don't prescribe a specific message or feeling. Instead, I encourage them to create their own interpretations and emotional responses. My hope is that each piece resonates uniquely with every individual who engages with it, fostering a personal and meaningful connection.

"Painting allows me to translate the world as I see it, and to share my unique perspectives."
